iOS Jailbreaking - How to Jailbreak?

Jailbreaking is a privilege escalation exploit used to bypass the manufacturer's software constraints. It is usually accomplished by a series of kernel changes.

One can follow the steps below to jailbreak an iOS device:
  • Step 1: Get Fugu14 and install it.
  • Step 2: If you're using a Windows PC, ensure sure you have the most recent version of iTunes downloaded and installed.
  • Step 3: Using a USB-to-Lightning connector, connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC.
  • Step 5: Launch AltServer
  • Step 6: Select Install AltStore > from the selection that displays.
  • Step 7: Enter your Apple ID and password when requested, then click Install.
  • Step 8: If you're using a Mac to install AltStore, you'll be requested to install an Apple Mail plug-in. On the following page, click Install Plug-in to install the required Mail plug-in, input your Mac password when requested, and restart Mail and activate AltPlugin according to the instructions.
  • Step 9: An AltStore icon should appear on your iPhone or iPod Touch's home screen, but don't open it just yet.
  • Step 10: Select Settings > General > Device Management from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 11: Tap the line that indicates your Apple ID under Developer App.
  • Step 12: Select Trust (your Apple ID).
  • Step 13: Confirm your trust in the dialogue box that displays.
  • Step 14: On your iPhone or iPod Touch, open Safari.
  • Step 15: In AltStore, tap Open. The AltStore app should instantly launch and begin installing Unc0ver. If you're prompted for your Apple ID and password, make sure it's the same one you used to install AltStore.
  • Step 16: Hold down Unc0ver and select Open from the pop-up menu.

  • Step 17: Select Jailbreak and wait for it to finish.
